– Когда игра идет так быстро, вы успеваете думать о теннисе или только удивляетесь: в смысле, уже 1:5?

– Стараюсь думать о теннисе,

Can you just think of it as the tennis or alsothinking, wait a second, here I am?CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I was just trying to think ofit as the tennis, and then I started thinking about it asthe time out there. I was, like, Well, this is going reallyquick. Let’s try and slow it down a little bit and get alittle extra time out here.Q. First of all, allow me to thank you for all you’vegiven to our sport.CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Thank you so much.Q. My question is, in a tennis career there are somany different decisions that shape your path, your destiny, so to speak. If there were one or twoimportant decisions that you have made in yourcareer, what would they be?CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Oh, I feel like there hasbeen a lot of great decisions and more thandecisions. I think sticking with my dad and thatpartnership I think, you know, has made me theplayer that I am today and has really, you know–Idon’t think, I definitely wouldn’t have been where I amtoday if it wasn’t for him, because, you know, the trustthat was there between us and just the journey I thinkwas amazing. You know, I think the choice of having great fitnesscoaches has really also shaped the player that I am,because I have always been the physically fit and thestrongest player out there, or at least in my head. If Iwasn’t, I was one of them. You know, I think that has really given me a lot overthe years (smiling).Q. It was one of those vintage Wozniackicomebacks, as people were saying. I’m curious, for you, looking back, what is the greatestcomeback in a match that you have had in yourstoried career?CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I don’t know. There hasbeen a lot of them. One that I remember would beagainst Kuzy at the US Open. I think it was the fourthround, late match. I don’t remember if it was 2009. Itcould have been 2009.That was a crazy match, because she was up quick. Ithink she won the first set easy, and then I won 7-6,and then something crazy in the third set.But that was a really exciting match and a match thatI played really well in.Q. What are the emotions like for you out therewhen it’s an atmosphere like that and everybodyis cheering for you and you know that it’s notgoing to be that many more matches?CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Well, hopefully it’s stillgoing to be a lot of matches (smiling).Q. Well, it can be five.CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Well, it feels great. Thecrowd is really supporting me out there and standingbehind me and it’s amazing. It’s a tournament whereI have always had crowd support, so it just feels evenmore special because it’s even more now.You know, it really feels–I feel just lucky to be outthere and, you know, still playing on a high level.Q. When she was serving in the first set at 5-2,she came out, broken at Love, four straightunforced errors off her racquet. Was that one ofthose moments where in terms of, maybe notthinking about the second set, there is thewobble that I need in terms of feeling like shemight start missing again?CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Honestly, there was no realproper feeling out there today because she came outswinging, and she started making the lines andeverything was going in, even balls that I don’t thinkshe knew were possible to hit it that way.I was just thinking to myself, it surely can’t continue. Ifit’s going to continue, then there is not much I can doRev #1 by #193 at 2020-01-22 05:08:00 GMTpage 1 of 2out there. But, you know, then she started making errors. I wasjust hoping that she was going to keep doing those.Because it was really a match where, you know, is itgoing to go in? Is she going to keep firing? Thenshe’s going to win it.I also knew if I could stay with her the first two, threepoints after the serve and after the return, then it wasgetting more into my favor. So that’s really what I wasgoing to try and do out there.Q. The second set, a lot of ways like the first, butthen you’re ahead. How was that near the end, that 4-5 where she’s taking the trainer break...CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Yeah, obviously she triedto break my rhythm. And at 5-4 I don’t think there isanything wrong. She was running just fine. So that’sa trick that she’s done before, and I knew that it wascoming. But I was just trying to stay focused. I had matchpoint. I had chances. I didn’t take them. Some ofthem she played well; some of them I played toopassively. In the end I just tried to keep focusing, just keepgrinding, keep hanging in there. And I finally made itat 6-5 for me, and that was a nice relief.
